In English 11, we will continue to develop our reading, writing, and vocabulary skills through studying fiction/non-fiction, poetry, drama, and more. Students will deepen their understanding of complex texts and develop a more sophisticated level of writing and speaking.

I am available from 8:00-8:20 M, T, Th, F. I am also available during Advisory M, T, Th, F. If students need an additional appointment, they are welcome to schedule directly with me. Please send an email or teams message to make an appointment .
Why do we have to read?
The short answer is that this is an English class and we read. The real answer is that reading supports you in so many ways. Reading strengthens your vocabulary and writing skills. Reading also enhances your imagination and helps expand your knowledge base. Reading stimulates your brain by improving your memory and focus and boosting your mood.
What is your late policy?
In English 11, the late policy is as follows:
Assignments are due on the due date. Ample class time is given for each assignment. If the assignment is submitted late, the maximum points that can be earned is 66%. Late assignments will be accepted for a maximum of 5 school days. After that, a zero will be given.
Why is this so hard? I don’t understand!
The answer to this question is complicated, however, before you say you don’t understand or complain about how hard something is, try reading the directions again, ‘phoning a friend/neighbor’, looking over your notes, or simply taking a deep breath. Chances are we have covered the hard material and are practicing. Everyone starts somewhere.
Do we have a final in this class?
Currently, my final is only required if you are required to take finals through the school’s policy, so yes, there is a final. Finals information is always posted approximately two weeks in advance so that you can study and be prepared. The day of finals is not the time to ask if there is a final…
