Welcome to Stanley Speech!
Speech is a great activity that teaches leadership, accountability, preparation, self esteem and more! The purpose of competitive Speech is to help students develop the skills and confidence in communicating. You can use these skills all throughout your life. During Speech you can also meet new people. We love our Speechies and are working very hard at making this a TEAM event! We are looking forward to not only the Speech season for 2024-25 but some awesome team bonding adventures!
Speech Events to Consider
Oral Interpretations – Speakers use a script from a piece of literature to share emotion.
- Prose – Dramatic Interp. (from a play) – Humorous Interp. – Poetry Interp. – Serious / Humorous duo
Original Oratory – Speakers write an original script.
- Inform – Persuade – Entertain
Prep Events – Speakers have time on contest day to prepare for their event.
- Radio – EPR – Impromptu – Extemp. Speaking – Story Telling
